Kimber has finally started shipping the new LG-408 Crimson Trace laser grips for the Solo Carry pistol. The Crimson Trace grips were first shown off back in January at the SHOT Show when we were shown a set of rosewood grips on a Solo Stainless.
To date, neither the Solo Stainless pistol or the rosewood Crimson Trace laser grips are available. Instead, we have the all black Solo Crimson Trace grips (LG-408) with front activation.
You can see more photos or place an order in our store.
Crimson Trace is releasing a new line of 1911 laser grips identified as the Master Series laser grips (credit to 1911forum.com for the lead on this information).
The Master Series of Crimson Trace grips will all have a slightly updated design to accommodate a regular size ambidextrous safety. The laser module on the top of the grips appears to have been slightly reduced in overall length which allows the safety to properly function.
In addition to the modification to the laser module, there are new Master Series models that fit 1911's with bobtail frames (rounded mainspring housing) like Kimber's Super Carry line.
The new 1911 Master Series models are:
LG-901 Rosewood - for full size 1911's - accommodates ambi-safety
LG-902 Rosewood - for compact 1911's - accommodates ambi-safety
LG-903 Rosewood - for full size 1911's with bobtail - accommodates ambi-safety
LG-904 G10 Black/Gray - for full size 1911's - accommodates ambi-safety
LG-905 G10 Black/Gray - for compact 1911's - accommodates ambi-safety
LG-906 G10 Black/Gray - for full size 1911's with bobtail - accommodates ambi-safety
The Master Series laser grips are not yet available from Crimson Trace - release date is unknown.
Continue to the post for detailed specs / photos of each model.
We just received a batch of new pistols from Kimber - a 1911 Pro Carry II and Ultra Carry II with Slatewood Crimson Trace lasergrips and 3-dot contrast sights.
These pistols are not cataloged on Kimber's website or in the 2011 catalog but they are configured by the factory - not an in-house customization.
You can see more photos of each model along with specs, pricing, and ordering information:
We just found some information about a soon to be release Crimson Trace laser grip for the Solo / Solo Stainless. The laser will be nearly identical to the rosewood model we saw recently at SHOT Show - except black.
The model for the new Solo Crimson Trace is LG-408 and we've got 10 on order already. We're guessing it will be another month or two before they are available.

Crimson Trace just started a new promotion for their laser grips. I believe this is the first time that Crimson Trace has run a mail in rebate...
The rebate is for $50 and is valid on purchases between April 2, 2011 and June 30, 2011. There does not seem to be a limit per household but each rebate must be sent in individually. The rebate is only applicable to individual laser purchases. You can't use it for a laser that you bought on a gun.
Right now we are running a sale on the black LG-401 laser grip for full size 1911's. This grip is on sale for $229 and after the rebate, you're at $179...
You can download a copy of the rebate form by clicking the graphic below and we will include a rebate form with each laser purchased.
We're running a great sale on the black 1911 Crimson Trace laser grip - the LG-401. This model normally runs $339 and is on sale for $229.
The LG-401 is a standard front activated Crimson Trace laser grip that can be used on any full size 1911. Note that if you have an ambidextrous safety, you may need to modify the right side safety or replace it with a bobbed (reduced length) safety to accommodate the laser module. Order the Crimson Trace LG-401.
We're attending SHOT Show this week in Las Vegas and we thought we had seen all the surprises after the Solo Carry was shipped in from Kimber on Friday.
Surprisingly, they already have a set of Crimson Trace lasergrips ready to go for the new Solo Carry (Stainless shown in photos). I think these would be called concept grips or demo grips - I do not believe they are in full production just quite yet.

We now have the Ultra CDP II with Crimson Trace rosewood laser grips. This model features a bobbed ambidextrou safety, rosewood Crimson Trace laser grips, night sights, front strap checkering, and a 3" match grade barrel. The slide has Kimber's carry melt treatment and the frame is KimPro coated.
See specs, availability, and pricing on the new Ultra CDP II LG in our store.
We just received another Kimber 2010 model - the Ultra TLE II LG - featuring gray Crimson Trace lasergrips. This model is replacing an Ultra Carry II with laser grips. Unlike the Ultra Carry II, this model has night sights and frontstrap checkering.
See more photos of the Ultra TLE II LG.
We've got the newest Kimber model featuring Crimson Trace lasergrips - the Stainless Pro TLE II LG. This model has a 4" stainless steel barrel, stainless steel frame, night sights, frontstrap checkering, and tactical gray Crimson Trace lasergrips. See full specs of the Stainless Pro TLE II CT.
