If you want to build a lightweight AR-15 without sacrificing durability or functionality, the Atlas R-ONE handguard is one component you want to look at. It is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and features a proprietary attachment system that ensures your rail is locked down tight and will not rotate. ATLAS stands for Aero Taper Lock Attachment System, which features two mirrored and tapered locking nuts that evenly distribute clamping pressure on the custom machined barrel nut. The ratcheting detent system ensures that it stays locked down no matter what. This Aero Precision handguard has the same slim profile as the S-ONE series of free float handguards except that it has a full length picatinny top rail in case you need the extra rail space for optics or other attachments. The inside diameter measures only 1.3” but is still compatible with most low-profile gas blocks. Another feature of this free float handguard is the seamless integration with the Aero M4E1 threaded upper receivers. Not only does it perfectly match up to the M4E1 but it is also compatible with Mil-Spec receivers, so you can easily customize your build how you see fit.

The Atlas R-ONE also comes in multiple different lengths, finishes, and attachment systems like M-LOK or KeyMod. This specific rail is 15 inches in length allowing it to completely cover rifle length gas systems and allow you to place lights further out on your rail. It also has a durable hardcoat anodized matte black finish to match your receiver. Along the sides and bottom are M-LOK attachment points, so you can customize exactly where you want rail sections for lights, grips or bipods. Another benefit of the M-LOK system is the quick detach accessory options that allow you to add or remove accessories with the press of a button.
