CMMG built this handle to withstand any charging method — whether you run a conventional two-finger pull, a support-hand blade over the top, or a hard slingshot from the strong side. That matters because ambidextrous handles historically fail at the latch pivot when shooters load one side asymmetrically. The ZEROED design distributes that load through the body rather than the latch pin.

Works With Gloves and With Glass

The grip surfaces are usable with gloves on, and the low-profile latch geometry keeps the handle clear of mounted optics — a real problem on builds running large-objective LPVOs or offset mounts where a tall latch fouls the bell or the throw lever. Patent pending.

Compatibility

This handle fits AR-15 / Mk4 pattern upper receivers. It will not fit AR-10 / .308 pattern rifles — CMMG sells separate ZEROED ambi handles for the Mk3 (.308 / SR-25 / DPMS pattern), the Mk47, and .22 LR platforms. CMMG also offers an extended-latch version of this AR-15 handle as a separate part; 55BA5A4 is the standard-latch configuration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is installation gunsmithing work?

No. A charging handle is a drop-in replacement — pull the bolt carrier group and the old handle out of the upper, slide this one in, reinstall the BCG. No tools required.

Will it fit my AR-10?

No. This is the Mk4 / AR-15 version. CMMG makes a separate ZEROED ambi handle for .308-pattern rifles.

Standard or extended latch?

This part is the standard latch. CMMG's extended-latch model is a separate SKU for shooters who want a longer lever for support-hand charging.
