No Safety, By Choice
This is a real preference split, not a compromise. Shooters who train on striker-fired pistols with no manual safety want consistency across their guns — the draw stroke is the same every time, and there's no extra step to get wrong when it counts. S&W builds the Bodyguard 2.0 both ways so you can pick. If you want a thumb safety, that's SKU 14785; the pistols are otherwise identical.
The Optic Is the Point
The Viridian RFX1 puts a 3 MOA green dot on a gun that weighs less than a pound — mounted without requiring an optic-ready slide or permanent modification. Micro pistols are the hardest guns to shoot well with irons, and a dot fixes most of that.

What's the difference between this and SKU 14785?
Only the safety. 14786 has no manual safety; 14785 has a frame-mounted thumb safety. Every other published specification is identical — same weight, same dimensions, same barrel, slide, sights, optic, and magazines.
